This is the mighty BANHAMMER. It is as a final measure of enforcement in the chats and forums of dA. It's simple double-head design gives the wielding admin two levels of dicipline to dispense to the unruly masses.

It's first side (the "BAN") is made with raised lettering that protrude 1/4 of an inch from the face of the hammer. When used properly, it leaves a temporary (yet painful) "BAN" that acts as a simple reminder of who is in charge around the dA servers.

The reversed side has a slightly larger surface face with deeper-cut bladed lettering forming the word "BANNED". This side is used when some jackass didn't get the hint the few times that an admin closed a thread or deleted a deviation. When used correctly, the lettering will cut deep enough to leave scarrified lettering on your person that forever indicates your unwelcomed presence to dA.

And for anybody who is observant enough, yes the side with the "BANNED" lettering is not inverted. I thought I could save some time and simply flipped the image of that side backwards so it gave better symmetry to the other side of the full image.

Inspired by #forum, but don't go there; they're jerks. :aww:

 They should have a little animation for peope who log into a banned account for the first time, it would have to include one of these hammers and their username.

It would pwn.
Adding insult to injury? Sounds like fun!

Somebody inspired to me. All I can remember is that I was in #forum and somebody was talking about "The ban hammer coming down".

Was this done before or after they removed another one of your deviations?

Just slightly before.

Dare I mention "Banned" is the wrong way round?

Otherwise, nice idea, I like. The backgrounds a bit weird though.

My art is my life... or at least an imitation of someone else's.
:D I'm guessing you didn't bother to read the entire description. In the actual model, the word "BANNED" is inverted, but when I screen-captured the dynamic angle, it was reversed to what I needed to balance the angle of the hammer on the left. So, instead of taking the 30 seconds it would've rquired to redo the model angle and capture that, I simply cropped and vertically flipped the image that I already had.

I also made the background the intent of giving the viewer the illusion of spinning. :dizzy:
