Rolling Revolver

This is probably the most simple gun design I've ever come up with. But that's not a bad thing. This is based off of the mechanics behind a revolver style handgun, but instead of having a barrel with 4-9 parallel bullets, my design features a ring of 30 preloaded bullets that rotate around the handle and use a ratchet system to bring a new bullet into alignment after the previous one has been spent. The mechanism is frightfully simple. The trigger simply uses an internal lever to pull the firing pin backward against a return spring. Once the lever pulls the pin to the furthest back point, the pin is released and it is pushed forward to detonate the powder charge of the bullet. As the bullet travels along the bore, the hot gas pushing it forward is directed down a set of blowback channels and the barrel is forced to ratchet upward, independant of the handle, catch the next bullet into alignment with a toothed wheel and then gravity brings the barrel back into position with the handle grip and is locked in place, ready for the next firing. The Rolling Handgun uses 30, 12.75mm hollow-point full metal jacket bullets.
